Pre-K

Age Range & Developmental Focus

Our Pre-K program at daycare is designed for children between the ages of 4.5 to 7 years. We provide a nurturing and stimulating environment for children to learn and grow. Our experienced teachers use a play-based approach to help children develop social, emotional, and cognitive skills. We offer a variety of activities art, music, and outdoor play, to keep children engaged and excited about learning.

At  Curious Minds, we use the Frog Street curriculum for our Pre-K program. This curriculum is designed to provide a comprehensive and engaging learning experience for young children. It focuses on developing social-emotional skills, language literacy, math, science, and creative expression. With Frog Street, our students are able to learn through play and exploration, which helps them develop a love for learning that will last a lifetime

Curriculum & Approach

When it comes to Pre-K education, it's important to have a curriculum and approach that is both engaging and developmentally appropriate. Our program focuses on hands-on learning experiences that encourage exploration and creativity, while also building important skills in areas such as language, math, and social-emotional development. With a balance structured activities and free play, our Pre-K program sets the foundation for a lifetime of learning.

Typical Daily Schedule

  • Arrival & Morning Meeting: Children start their day with a warm welcome, share their thoughts and feelings, and discuss the day's activities.

  • Free Choice Centers: Children have the opportunity to explore various learning centers, such as the art center, block center, dramatic play area, and science corner, fostering independent learning and decision-making.

  • Circle Time: We gather together for engaging songs, stories, and group discussions that promote language development, listening skills, and social interaction.

  • Outdoor Play: Weather permitting, we venture outside for active play, nature exploration, and games that promote gross motor skills and physical development.

  • Small Group Activities: Teachers lead small groups in targeted learning experiences that focus on literacy, math, science, and social-emotional skills.

  • Lunch & Rest Time: Children enjoy a nutritious lunch and have a designated quiet time for rest and relaxation.

  • Afternoon Enrichment: We offer a variety of afternoon activities, such as music, movement, cooking, or special projects, to further enrich children's learning experiences.
